On-Premise Vs. Cloud Storage
Even only a few years ago, you could have been undecided about whether to go with a cloud-based or on-premises solution. The struggle is now done.
There are a few instances where an on-premise solution is still appropriate. For example, if the majority of your essential databases are on-premises and are too old to function with cloud-based data warehouses, an on-premises solution may be the best option. If your organization is bound by complex regulatory restrictions, on-premises is your only option.
If your CEO’s brother-in-nephew law claims to be an on-prem genius and the CEO needs to swiftly get him a job because else the CEO’s marriage won’t survive, on-prem may make sense. Or if your CEO is being blackmailed by an unemployed on-premises consultant with images that must be kept secret at all costs? Let’s face it: business users, particularly finance experts, like Excel.
